The Australian Team Sailing Association (ATSA) is committed to the promotion, advancement and administration of team sailing throughout Australia so team sailing can be conducted, encouraged, promoted, and advanced across the country in a consistent and unified manner.
The Australian Team Sailing Association will work with its membership – the recognised body in each State representing team sailing in that state, to continue the engagement and success of the sport and offer greater opportunity for sailors to learn, develop and compete in Team Sailing. Each member engages with ATSA through its nominated delegate representative.
A goal for the Association is to offer more competition, in more locations, to more sailors across the country. ATSA believes this can be achieved alongside the current state based programs for individual, club and class sailing programs, and will work with its members and with Australian Sailing to achieve this.
In October 2017, the amended constitution Australian Team Sailing Association (ATSA) was approved and registered in New South Wales, along with an updated governance structure.
The Australia Team Sailing Association will work with the States to continue the engagement and success of the sport and offer greater opportunity for sailors to learn, develop and compete in Team Sailing. The objects seek to work with
and act in accordance with the objects of the Australian Sailing constitution, and to adopt and implement policies as may be developed by Australian Sailing or World Sailing.
ATSA has ongoing responsibility for the organisation and oversight of the annual program of National Championships with primary focus on the Australian Secondary Schools Team Sailing Championships, held annually in conjunction with the host State, on a rotational basis.
The Association is governed by a Committee made up of delegate representatives from the membership and elected Directors.
